Book Review Of The Short Story Othello By William Shakespeare - 1100 Words

Book Review Of The Short Story Othello By William Shakespeare (Book Review Sample) Content: A review of Othello by William Shakespeare.Othello is without doubt one of the greatest literature written by the English Poet William Shakespeare. Although originally derived from a short-story Shakespeare skillfully coins it then adapts the piece making it one of his greatest tragedies ever. It is a difficult screed and takes time to comprehend and get through, therefore I solely recommend it to people who like classics and have patience. William Shakespeare was an English poet, actor, play writer and he is regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. It is not clearly stated when the enigma was born, but he died on 23rd April 1616 Stratford-upon-Avon, United KingdomOthello promotes Cassio as a lieutenant despite his lack of experience in the field as he thinks he is more tactical and strategic as compared to Iago. Iago is left out. The latter vows to revenge out of jealousy. Othello afterwards in great secret marries Desdemona and Barbanto alleges tha t Othello is using witchcraft to woe his daughter into marriage. By marrying Othello, Desdemona wanted to disapprove the society which is brainwashed as it confines women, she uses her education as a tool of empowerment and rises above the detrimental societal norms. Unfortunately she is murdered after being wrongly accused of adultery.Desdemona, being so meek and of good character is too naive to stand up for herself and protest against the injustices bestowed upon her. This becomes one of her shortcomings and flaws which consequently leads to her unquestionable death. The characters in the play are manipulated in a way that perfectly suits them. Deception is so loud and runs through the play. For example Desdemona manoeuvre with deceit as she does not want her father to learn about her engagement to Othello. She did not want her father to go through a lot of pain. Although it is inevitable Desdemona plays the delay tactic but eventually her father dies.Desdemona further deceives her husband and this comes back consuming her as Iago utilizes and builds on her lies. As a show of love and fidelity in her marriage, Othello gives her a handkerchief. It was the one her mother used to keep his father faithful, oblivious of this Desdemona misplaces it and fails to remember where she placed it. When Othello inquires she lies about its where about. The handkerchief is used as a concrete evidence bring out her infidelity. If she could have said the truth the play would have shifted and Iago would have no substantive evidence to pinpoint her infidelity. Emilia therefore could have decided on another course of action.Roderigo on the other end is blinded by the love of Desdemona and he is prepared to go through thick and thin to win her heart. Iago utilizes this loophole to work against him. Cassie is also manipulated and lured into drinking by Iago and starts a fight. This ruins his reputation leading to his demotion as a lieutenant. Iago maliciously places Desdemona's handkerchief in his chamber so that it is understood that Cassie and Desdemona are having an affair. This goes down to manipulate Othello to think that his wife is an infidel.Shakespeare brings out Iago as an honest soldier who can be counted upon on th...

A Midsummer Night’s Dream Essay The Character of Bottom

The Character of Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream The character of Bottom in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is frequently foolish, but he is not a fool. His exuberance and energy are allied to practicality and resourcefulness, with an alarming lack of self-consciousness. He, at any rate, is not at all tongue-tied before the duke, as Theseus has known others to be. We do laugh at Bottom in many situations, but should note that these are situations in which any man might seem ridiculous: amateur theatricals are almost a byword for unintended comedy, whether in planning (1.2) rehearsal (3.1) or performance (5.1); any artisan afflicted with an asss head and appetites, and beloved of the fairy queen would have difficulty†¦show more content†¦It is Bottom who prompts most of the debate about the practical difficulties of the lion, the wall and the moonlight. When his friends run away, Bottom, though clearly afraid, remains in the wood. He is not subdued by his encounter with the powerful fairy queen and her servants. When he wakes in the morning, he is thinking of his lines in Pyramus and Thisbe, and he is not awed even by the great duke. Bottom is also capable of great wisdom. His comment to Titania about reason and love is the clearest articulation in the play of this central truth. His soliloquy on waking in the wood, though marked by his usual verbal confusion is, perhaps because of this, almost lyrical in articulating what defies the language of the ordinary man (Lysander, in this scene, is far less eloquent; in the next scene, Theseus fails to penetrate the mystery). The mixing up of the senses (The eye of man hath not heard, the ear of man hath not seen...) is of course not intended, but reflects the confusion of the nights events. This particular fault of speech is one which afflicts Bottom elsewhere (I see a voice; but it is possible that the fault is the writers; in the rehearsal, Quince tells FluteShow MoreRelatedA Midsummer Nights Dream Essay1482 Words   |  6 PagesA Midsummer Night’s Dream: by William Shakespeare William Shakespeare was born in April 1564. Walking into the building I smelled cafeteria food and heard the sound of teachers setting out breakfast. I hate mornings enough as is ,but it being summer made it so much worse. I was nervous to be here, you see my mom helps teach three year olds with special needs(so it’s not the usual job). I was used to this by now ,but this time would be different. They had gotten a new little girl in their class that year her name is Cassie and she was born without eyes. Her eyes just never developed so she has prosthetic eyes. I had never dealt with anyone who has this kind of disability before let alone a sweet innocent little girl. At first even my mom and the other teachers in the classroom were nervous when they heard they were getting her in their class ,but now they have had her in their class for months so they know exactly how to work with her. Let’s go inside and have breakfast. Come on this way†, I heard mom say as she walks into the building hand in hand with the cutest little girl. I watched as they walked in and realized that she’s the same as any other little girl. She felt her way around the table to her seat and when she found her spot she sat down in the tiny chair. She had a specific plate of her very own with four different sections in it. In each section we had put a different breakfast food. She felt the food, and then smelt the food before she even got it to her mouth. I sat at the other side of the table and watched in amazement as she did these things perfectly like there was no other way. After everyone had finished their breakfast it was time to go outside and play. She got up automatically and grabbed for her looped ring rope so that she could get into line with all the other kids. Once we got out the doors to the playground all the kids ran loose except Cassie. I watched as she slowly roamed around the playground area, then when we started talking to her and she walked toward us by the sound of our voices. â€Å"Cassie! Cassie! Come on! Come this way!†, we all shouted as she walked toward us. Through the rest of the day she just never ceased to leave me in astonishment with what she could do. After seeing the difference my mom and the other teachers make ,for these kinds of children everyday, it inspired me to do the same thing when I graduate. I really want to help children with these disabilities who most people don’t know how to deal with or even just dont want to deal with. Since that very day I was sure that I am absolutely in love with teaching, so every summer since I have helped everyday they were there.

A Proposed Essay is Not the Same As a Proposal - Using Proposal Argument Essay Samples

A Proposed Essay is Not the Same As a Proposal - Using Proposal Argument Essay SamplesA proposal essay is an important component in any academic writing course, whether at school or university. The faculty of any course will require that all students have completed one prior to graduating. Therefore, most students find themselves rushing to finish the project before the term begins.Students who don't take enough time to research their material often tend to write poorly, which can lead to poor grades and even a few mistakes in the writing. The best way to avoid this problem is to use some proposals essay samples to help with the process. There are several ways to determine if you are writing a formal essay or if you are writing a proposal. However, when it comes to writing a proposal, the proposal is often taken as the central topic and so many students will always assume that they must submit a proposal. However, the main point of the document is to lay out your arguments. Therefore, before you write a proposal, you need to first ask yourself 'what argument do I want to make?'Once you have established the main point of the document, you then need to create the content. The first step is to search for professional proposals that relate to your topic. This can be a daunting task, but there are several websites that offer a comprehensive list of these documents online.Once you have found your idea, you will need to focus on the details. It is important to ensure that your proposal includes enough detail to outline the main points of your idea. For example, if you are proposing a professional writer, you should identify the work experience or qualifications that the writer has previously achieved and show how this will benefit the client.Of course, you should never include too much detail, because it is your client's job to read the documents and decide if you are worthy of providing them with the product. So, if you find yourself struggling to explain exactly what your proposal is about, then it is probably time to take another look at the proposal that you have just created. Finally, the last step is to review the proposal, and if there are any parts that seem overly complex, then your writing may need to be reworked. At the very least, you should either rewrite the sections or ask the help of a project management expert. In the end, the success of your proposal depends on how well you work together to construct a document that will allow you to write well.
